We've got Mary in the backseat

Our free Mary Grotto

    
My husband and I have been talking about putting in a Marian garden on our farm for over a year. We have read all about the flowers we will grow, and their meanings. We have looked at various online sites at statues ,but had not gotten past the planning stage.

Well, as luck or maybe divine intervention  would have it, when scanning the mornings facebook posts this past week, someone was giving away a Mary grotto for free! So the next day we went to pick up Mary. The grotto is in rough shape, I will have to rebuild the bottom left half and reconstruct one of the roses.

We have already done a youtube search on how to repair concrete statues. It doesn't seem too difficult. This project though will have to wait until the spring , as we are in the middle of wood cutting for our long mountain winters. I will do a video of the reconstruction in the springtime. I am happy we saved Mary from being dumped in a landfill.

On the way home with Mary in our backseat, we got a little silly and composed a poetic song. Remember, I did say silly.



We have Mary in the back seat
We got her free, and that can’t be beat
We’re going home, but we can’t eat meat                   ( yes, it was Friday)
Cause we have Mary in the backseat

Got some wine in a grocery bag
And for that we are very glad
Add some bread and it's complete
Cause we got Mary in the Backseat
